Ethical disclosure here, I know the author, she’s a friend of mine. That being said, I don’t think this prevents me from objectively reviewing this book. It’s amazing, to be honest. I went into it expecting well, the usual TF fair and, what I found was a heartwarming, incredibly deep and yet light at the same time story about loving oneself, being happy, and being trans.Zandra knows how to string words together into a read that’s not just compelling, but speaks to the part of all of us that longs to be happy, cannot wait to see what she does in the future.
Seriously, I like this authors way of handling Transgender issue. The three main Characters are amazing.Word of warning once you read it the first time, you'll hit 3 WHAT?!? moments, the handling of the reveals are subtle and the clues are all there right from the Start, only the Author uses pronouns correctly, and writes the narrative in such a way you'll miss the clues.
As a trans girl myself, and moreover one with many similar experiences to the main character, reading this but me in a way I never expected, but greatly appreciated.Tabbi feels like a mirror, both in her "mistaken" desired and her journey to accepting that it's ok to love yourself, he yourself, and sometimes, to be selfish. Above all, learning its okay to be happy is the most difficult and most precious lesson. I'm glad this book exists, and even more so that I read it. thanks.
I’d been waiting to read this light novel since it’s non-Kindle release and I’m so happy that it’s finally out.So go get a cozy blanket and a warm drink and settle in for a dose of bliss that 2018 desperately needs!
You ever read a character and just go, "this is me" and start realizing ones own journey into self?Yeah, this is rather accurate to how I feel. And just Tabbi's motivation to not accepting the girl she is was a very real echo where i just kinda shouted "YOU CAN DO IT!"Uggggh.UGGGH,I love this so much
I went into this book thinking I would enjoy it, but had no idea how much. I have never cried so much at anything that made me this happy. I relate to the cast on such a deep personal level. If you want a case of the happy gender feels this is the book for you!
Zandra has managed to write a great work about what it feels like to be transgender when you yourself don’t quite know it yet. The world and the endearing characters work together to allow the main character and the reader to work through their feelings. She does a great job making you empathize with her characters and their struggles! It’s also very nice to read a work about trans people that doesn’t focus on violence and death.
