If I could give this piece of trash ZERO stars, I would. This book still supports the Warren Commission LIES, which has been proven false multiple times. Do not waste any money on this book as you will be severely disappointed!! I will never read another O'reilly book again.
I had little to no interest in Kennedy before reading this. I, being a conservative Libertarian millennial, was guilty of thinking that I knew what I wanted to know about Kennedy, that he was the liberal version of Regan. I’ve watched a few documentaries on the assassination so I thought I was knowledgeable enough about that aspect of history. Boy was I wrong... Kennedy did some great things, but he was also not that great of a guy (infidelity being at the top of the list). This book paints a fair picture of the former president. Kennedy shines bright when he is on top, and his warts are revealed when he is brought low. Excellent entertaining read. Now onto Patton!
As a Canadian, this book was a very good read for me to truly appreciate the life and heart of JFK and his time in the White House. The background and motivations of Oswald was interesting and intriguing. However, in the end, the book did not bring out anything that I hadn't already read or seen in documentaries. Nonetheless, the writing and style of the story telling were captivating.
Many of us remember the Kennedy assassination. This book gives background information and details about all the key players. Well researched and written. If you want more than what the news tells us about this major world event, read this book. I recommend it!
Really enjoyed Killing Kennedy! This was the first book I have read on JFK and his life and assassination. Glad I went with this one because it was written so concisely. A very easy read that you could finish within a week or two. As others have mentioned, this is a good JFK starter book. There are plenty of other books that go way more in-depth on the subjects presented. With that being said, it was a fun read and I will definitely be reading more books from Mr. O’Reilly.
The author embellishes the story with gossip, and while much of the gossip may be true, it isn't necessary.
I'm reading this on my kindle for Android while I wait at my doctor appointments. I'm enjoying the book and I have learned so much about what happens behind closed doors of the Kennedy presidency. President Kennedy is my favorite president. So clearly I'm loving the book.
EXCELLANT BOOK, Really changed my view of the Kennedy family though, I don't like them the way I did before, John cheating on Jackie, the way he treated her, Jackies love of $$$$, her marrying Onasis, GEEEEEZ! Very interesting about the assignation though, WELL written book, loved it!
